
ROCHELLE - A Rochelle man is facing two Class X felonies after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected drugs on Wednesday night. Around 6:20 PM, the Rochelle Police Department initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and 8th Street where they encountered 30-year-old Christopher Reed. During the stop, Rochelle K9 Odie reportedly alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Authorities say they recovered 35.5 grams of suspected cocaine and 273 pills of suspected ecstasy, along with other alleged contraband. Reed was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver MDMA. He was taken to the Ogle County Jail, where he was denied pretrial release on Thursday.
